Royal Ordnance Factory Siding 1950

In this photograph taken by John Ford in about 1950 the main Nottingham to Derby line is off to the right and a goods train is heading towards Lenton. In far distance it is possible to make out the bridge carrying Lenton Lane (then called Trent Lane) over the railway. On the left is a portion of the track leading off the main line and entering the Royal Ordnance Factory located in the Meadows area. Beyond the stop gates a Fowler Shunter is visible.
